Toulouse Blagnac International Airport is an important establishment nearby to the French city of Toulouse.  It is served by a large number of well-known airline carriers that take passengers to over a hundred destinations.  Air France and EasyJet even use this airport as one of their main hub locations.  The airport is recognized by its IATA code of TLS, and is approximately 4.1 miles, or 6.7km northwest of Toulouse, in the area of Blagnac.  Arriving passengers will find many facilities at their disposal, and are able to take one of the several available Toulouse Blagnac Airport buses to various destinations within the city.  Coach services are present as well.

The airport of Toulouse Blagnac has a large terminal building that comprises of four halls referred to as the Halls A, B, C and D.  They are all within walking distance of one another, and therefore there is no need for any people mover transport system at this airport.  There is also no need for shuttle transportation between the halls.  Each hall handles a variety of airline companies, for example, Air France is one of the airlines found at Hall B, and from here they operate the majority of their domestic flights.  Hall D, built in 2010, is used for incoming and outgoing international flights by airline companies such as British Airways, Lufthansa and KLM.  Arriving passengers will find the airport fairly easy to navigate, and have access to several forms of ground transportation, including taxis, the Toulouse Airport buses and car rental companies.

The bus services at Toulouse Airport include the Flybus Airport Shuttle, public buses and the Airport/Andorra coach service that is operated by Novatel Autocars.  The Airport Shuttle and the public buses are operated by the company Tisseo, in charge as well of the metro transport services within Toulouse.

The Toulouse Airport Shuttle

Arriving passengers will find the airport shuttle bus outside the ground floor level Gate C, on the arrivals level of the terminal building.  All facilities and options for ground transportation at the airport are signposted, but if you are lost you can ask for help at one of the information booths available.  The shuttle services are available approximately every twenty minutes, depending on traffic conditions, seven days a week.  The first bus departs from the airport at 05:30am, and the last bus departs at 00:15am.

The buses travel for approximately twenty minutes in order to reach the Toulouse city centre, where they stop at the Compans Caffarelli station and the Jeanne d’Arc Metro Station.  Both of these destinations are on the Metro Line B.  The buses also run to Jean Jaurès on Metro Line A and B and to the Toulouse-Matabiau railway station.  The Toulouse-Matabiau station is a multimodal facility, with subway, bus and intercity bus services.  The shuttle buses are fitted with air conditioning, and audio announcements are made during the journey.  It is also a wheelchair accessible bus.

A one-way trip on the Airport Shuttle will cost just 5 Euro, but other passes can be purchased as well.  A Day Pass airport ticket will cost 8 Euro, six trips to or from the airport will cost 20 Euro and a seven day pass will cost 15 Euro.  Passes can be purchased for 31 days as well, at 45.60 Euro.  The majority of bus tickets can be purchased from ticket vending machines nearby the bus stations, but single bus tickets can be purchased aboard the Airport Shuttle as well.  The correct amount of change is usually then required.  In the city there are also a large number of Tisseo sale points.  Ticket prices are different when travelling on the public buses between points in the city.
